DAY 1 - the 31 of May
Arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel.
Sightseeing tour of Sofia. Sofia is an ancient city, nowadays the capital of Bulgaria. It was inhabited as early as 7000 years ago by Thracians, Romans, Bulgarians and was known as Serdica, Triaditsa, Sredets. The remnants of the old city can still be seen today. The fine harmony between the past and the present gives the town its genuine charm. During the tour you will see St. Nedelya Cathedral, St. George Rotunda, Russian church of St. Nicolas, St. Sophia Church/6th century/, St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Ivan Vazov National Theater. Overnight.
Optional on request: Dinner in a traditional Bulgarian restaurant.

DAY 2 - the 1 of June
After breakfast departure to Koprivshtiza. Koprivshtiza is a pitoresque mountain village, home to some of the most beautiful historical houses The houses are distinguished by special architecture. They preserve original furniture, antique weapons, national costumes, valuable jewelry, samples of traditional crafts.Guided tour with a visit to three museum houses. Free time for personal walk, shopping of local traditional crafts and lunch.
After lunch departure and accommodation in Starosel winery and SPA hotel. Visit the near Thracian sanctuary. Degustation and dinner in Starosel winery. Overnight .
Optional on request: Lunch in a tipical bulgarian tavern ( called mehana) in Koprivshtiza.
In advance can be prepared home made delicious dishes and specialty, banitza, tutmanik, patatnik and other dishes from old Bulgarian cuisine and regional recipes.

DAY 3 - the 2 of June
After breakfast departure to a rose field and see the ritual of rose picking and enjoy the program with singers and dancers in traditional costumes. Lunch. In the afternoon visit the ethnographic complex Kulata that represents the region`s town and village lifestyles. A primitive rose distillery, that depicts the rose picking magic, is also presented. See rose distillery presentation. You will have degustation of culinary products from oleaginous roses. Later visit the Museum of history in Kazanlak as well as the Thracian tomb of Kazanlak, an UNESCO heritage monument. Free time for shopping.
In the late afternoon departure to Plovdiv. Accommodation and overnight.

DAY 4 - the 3 of June
Plovdiv is an ancient city, contemporary to Troy and Mycenae. The present day downtown of Plovdiv lies on the ruins of an enormous Roman Stadium. The magnificent second century marble Antique Theatre has 3000 places. During the 19th century the Renaissance town was built. Its houses reveal the remarkable urban culture. Walls are multi-colored decorated, lovely gardens are hidden behind the walls. UNESCO awarded Plovdiv a gold medal for architecture. In 2019 Plovdiv is awarded to become the World capital of culture.
After breakfast - city tour of the ancient city and the old town with scenic houses from 19 century.You will learn about its history while exploring the charming historic quarter of the city In the afternoon a 30 minutes trip will take you to Bachkovo Monastery (est. the year 1083), a notable religious and tourist site. Enjoy the unique frescoes of the dining room and the facade of St. Nicholas Church, while your guide explains about the history, architecture and nowadays life in the monastery.Lunch.
Return to Sofia. Overnight.

DAY 5 - the 4 of June
After breakfast transfer to the airport. Departure.

Minor program changes are sometimes necessary, depending on the Rose festival program for 2018,  road- and weather conditions. Prices are subject to change in case of VAT or other tax increases.
